Kodak Instamatic 804

This US made coupled-rangefinder auto-exposure camera is apparently made from one or two aluminium die-castings, weighing considerably more than it would appear from it's photo. A clockwork film advance mechanism is fitted, which is wound by pulling the unusual tape-like device in the base of the camera. Operator compensation for the selenium-cell exposure meter is provided by the little self-centreing wheel below the viewfinder. Flash is provided by flashcubes, with a warning appearing in the viewfinder in low light situations. Unusually, the knurled front ring on the lens is a supplied "Series V" retaining ring. With this unscrewed, any "Series V" accessory lens or filter can be fitted without further adaptors.
